Sanyo Dual Camera

The Sanyo Dual Camera Xacti 720p HD VPC-CG10 is way better than the flip (for about the same $).  It has a huge viewfinder, can take stills or video, has image stabilization, has a 5x optical zoom, and much better audio.  Check it out at   http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/6 … _720p.html

It is a fairly big file, in HD, though.  You can see a sample of this video camera at: http://www.danbirch.com/Ski_videos/SANY0080.MP4 (ignore the skiing, of course!)

Re: Sanyo Dual Camera

Does it have a tripod mount (for use on the Trakker)? The flip shoots the same 720p, although the regular camera, 10megapixel capability looks sweet! Video Quality looks excellent as well.

Take a look at the new Kodak Zi8, it shoots in 1080p, has image stabilization, a 1/4" tripod mount, and can use SDHC memory cards which I believe go up to 32 gb at the moment.

Re: Sanyo Dual Camera

Yes, the Sanyo dual camera Xacti CG10 has a tripod mount.  The viewfinder is 3" diagonally, which is very useful.

We tested the Flip Ultra and the Xacti VPC-CG10 , and there was a huge difference.  Not saying that the flip won't work, but just not near as good as the Sanyo.  I got the Sanyo camera for about $120 on Amazon, with some gimicky credit card sign up thing for the extra discount.

Wade, I posted the answer w/photos on the Sanyo Dual Camera thread. (yes, it has the tripod mount).  It does have software, I believe.  I just plug it into my computer, and drag the files off the camera onto my computer, and upload them.  That seems easy enough to me.

Dan was that video taken by hand or was the camera connected to a mount?  It obviously will zoom in enough.

Does anyone have any video of the Zi8 on a Trakker?  The Sanyo camera looks awesome just wondering how the Zi8 compares for our application.

Re: Sanyo Dual Camera

I receive negative feedback from a customer using the Kodak Zi8 with the Trakker.  They did not supply video and said that they promptly returned the camera.  They said that the video was not stable while using it with the mount.  Just passing on the info.
