2008 vs. 2009 Monza - are they the same?

I thought these were the same ski, and there was a change from 2007.  However, I see there are quite different setup settings listed for each year.  Does anyone know if these are the same ski with a different graphic?  Chris

Re: 2008 vs. 2009 Monza - are they the same?

The Monza underwent an internal construction change from 2007 to 2008 increasing its torsional flex pattern.  As a result the factory stock settings were updated to accomadate the construction change.

Re: 2008 vs. 2009 Monza - are they the same?

I heard about the change from 2007 to 2008.  I thought it was the same going from 2008 to 2009.  The recommended setting in the ski section of this forum are radically different for the 2009 though.  The 2008 is closer to what I've heard of.  I bought a close out 2008 with the idea it was the latest version of the Monza. I just wanted to confirm this is the case.  Chris

Re: 2008 vs. 2009 Monza - are they the same?

Only ever used an '07. What skiers were telling me was that the 2008 had a smidge better carryout than the 2007. Over the run, the monza got better (more stable, more consistent, better carryout) but they never changed so much that a skier could not walk off a 2008 back to a 2005 and not ski about the same.

6.925" is a pretty long fin and you will likely reduce the tip anyway.
