9900 fin settings

Looking for some fin numbers for a 9900 SL 65.75" 34 mph. Tried it today at factory numbers and had great on side turns but some issues with the offside. Have been on a D3 which is great on both sides.

Re: 9900 fin settings

What settings are you running and how is the ski reacting on the offside?

Re: 9900 fin settings

factory numbers - ski doesn't want to finish turn with very little angle

Re: 9900 fin settings

I ski with snowsafe2000, his old 9700 and current Z7 both turn on his off-side and I'm sure his 9900 will with a fin/binding adjustment.

Re: 9900 fin settings

First try these:

Front boot at 29.125

0.711 from tail
6.871 long (jaws)
2.449

Then try this:
0.717 from tail
6.866 long
2.449

Re: 9900 fin settings

I am using on my 66.5" 9900SL:

Length = 6.855 (jaws, not tips, Goode technique)
Depth = 2.449
Tail = 0.731

These numbers seem to work great for me!  My bindings are at stock.  This is the best, most consistent ski I have owned.  I would recommend the stiffer (custom) flex.

Re: 9900 fin settings

Don't want to confuse anyone, but I struggled with 3 Goodes (currently 9700) on off side, finally (on expert advice) dropped the front of the fin almost 1/8"!!! (in 3 steps) now turns sweet on the offside without any harm to my onside, length more than .100 over factory, other settings close to factory.  Same thing with my wife's 9500, not quite as much length but same effect. good luck
